About Quiet Medicine

A Calm Space for Sensitive & Overwhelmed Bodies

Quiet Medicine is a grounding space for people living with chronic symptoms, complex or post-viral illness, sensitive nervous systems, or those simply needing a break from their routine. Many patients arrive overwhelmed by information, by the medical system, or by bodies that no longer feel predictable. Here, care unfolds with steadiness and patience, at a pace that honors your body’s limits and supports sustainable healing.

Calm the body, Quiet the Noise

My work centers on gentle, hands-on craniosacral therapy—a restorative approach that supports nervous system regulation and helps the body slow down and release long-held tension. Rather than pushing your system to do more or asking it to do what it can’t, we work with what is already present, allowing patterns of strain or overload to soften over time.

When appropriate, I may also offer simple, strategic naturopathic guidance—only what feels supportive, doable, and aligned with where you are.

A Place to Breathe and Settle

Healing happens when you feel safe, unhurried, and deeply listened to—especially after experiences that have left your body stressed, depleted, or dismissed. My goal is to offer trauma-informed care that takes your symptoms seriously and allows clarity to emerge at a pace your system can sustain.

This work builds on years of training in listening-based, somatic, and relational care, informed by both clinical practice and lived experience.

About Nathan Horek, ND

Steady care informed by 20 years in integrative medicine

I am a registered naturopathic doctor (#1039) in Saint Paul, MN, with a practice centered on gentle, hands-on craniosacral therapy. I’m trained in naturopathic medicine, chronic illness support, mindfulness-based therapies, and trauma-informed approaches that honor the pace and sensitivity needed when working with the nervous system.

My background includes private clinical practice and research in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Minnesota. I’ve also completed additional training in craniosacral therapy, the Perrin Technique, Hakomi, motivational interviewing, massage, homeopathy, and other therapeutic approaches. My focus is always the same: choosing the most supportive approach for the person in front of me.

I volunteer at Sholom Hospice, providing bereavement and end-of-life support—work that continually shapes my commitment to presence, patience, and deep listening.

Alongside my clinical training, I have lived with complex chronic illness for over a decade. This experience profoundly informs how I practice, and why Quiet Medicine moves at a gentler rhythm—attuned, grounded, and sustainable for both of us.

I offer care that is steady, intentional, and centered on what your body is saying. Whether you’re navigating chronic symptoms or the long-term effects of stress, illness, or medical treatment, you’ll be met with gentleness, honesty, and support that matches the pace your body needs.
